Animation Starting/Stopping
Hello! I have a technical SparkAR Question:
I have an animation that can be started/stopped when the user taps on the screen. It works, however I would like the animation to start automatically. Right now, the animation does not start until the user taps. How can I change this?

Hi Kate! We think this help doc may help with your question: https://sparkar.facebook.com/ar-studio/learn/documentation/docs/visual-programming/using-animation-patches/
If following those steps don't work, please let us know and we can investigate further. Thanks!

Hi! I looked at the link and it makes sense, however my animation was created in SparkAR using the 'Loop Animation' patch and some math. I decided to try doing the animation in Blender, and then following the instructions on the link you sent me, and I run in to the same issue of having the animation not play until the user taps on the screen.

Hi Kate, I have an answer for you =) The key is to not use the screen tap patch to trigger the animation but to have the ‘Play on start’ setting checked in the inspector for the Animation controller you created as shown here: https://devpost-public.s3.amazonaws.com/Facebook%202020/image001.png

I don't have that checkbox unfortunately. I also have the screen tap patch since I want the animation to start automatically and have the user be able to stop it by tapping.

Hi Kate! Sorry this response is delayed but here is what the technical team mentioned, "Make the screen tap patch is set up to stop the animation and not started. But you should have the checkbox on the Animation Controller used for the animation if you are using the latest version of AR Studio."
